Bathing Salts

The use of bathing salts started in China, around 2,700 B.C. , when the PengTzaoKanMu was written, probably the earliest known treatise on pharmacology. And during the time of Hippocrates, healers were encouraged by him to use sea water in submerging their patients who have muscle pains. Hippocrates also detailed the benefits of curing many ailments using sea water. When a physician named Charles Russel, around 1753 A.D. made, “The Uses of Sea Water”, it made points on the different therapeutic properties of sea water. When people heard of this, they suddenly began flocking to the coasts. Scientists still today focus on research and studies on sea water's benefits for many ailments, including health, beauty and overall well-being.

Enfleurage

Scented Pomades
Enfleurage

Enfleurage

Enfleurage : One of the oldest methods of extracting the essence of flowers, herbs and various botanicals . Traditionally , animal fats are used to render the precious oils , but MoonaLisa uses the hot enfleurage method using only vegetarian fats , butters and waxes. This method is considered the oldest known procedure for preserving plant fragrance substances. Once the fat is saturated with fragrance, it is then called the "enfleurage pomade". This "pomade" is then transformed into various unique offerings. Coming this Holiday Season!

Soaps

A soap-like material found in clay cylinders during the excavation of ancient Babylon is evidence that soapmaking was known as early as 2800 B.C. A formula for soap consisting of water, alkali and cassia oil was written on a Babylonian clay tablet around 2200 BC. The Ebers papyrus (Egypt, 1550 BC) indicates that ancient Egyptians bathed regularly and combined animal and vegetable oils with alkaline salts to create a soap-like substance. Egyptian documents mention that a soap-like substance was used in the preparation of wool for weaving.

* Madame de Mal de Mort's House of Voodoo - Scrying Candles

Long and slender pillar, the same mold as the "New Beginnings" candles offered at New Years, but darkly hued and made of paraffin wax , and filled with various trinkets of the season . They are scented with one of MoonaLisa's ™ "magic shop" blends, incensy, smoky and dusty. These are a little more then last years "New Beginnings" candle, but I had not priced out the charms nor figured in the raise in soy wax cost~ sorry about that.

Turn down the lights, sit back in a comfortable chair, light the candle and watch the flame dance before you. Do not stare at the flame without blinking. Just gaze at it, through it and around it.

As you gaze at the flame, either focus your mind on the question(s) you have or let it wander into your subconscious and see what transforms in your minds eye , and as the wax melts, see what trinkets appear
before your very eyes. ( Halloween trinkets and * Milagros are placed in candle in various stages of the wax pouring process, Moona placed "Halloween " theme trinkets in them , these are in no way bad " omens" !

Instructions are included on outer decorative wrapping which MUST be removed before lighting.

* What Scrying Is
Scrying is a method of divination (fortune-telling or seeing the unseen or unknown) by gazing into the shiny or reflective surface of an object. or dark mirror or water. The scryer stares into the object until a vision is seen in his or her mind's eye. It's an ancient art that dates back to early Egyptian and Arab civilizations, and throughout history has been used by wizards, witches, clairvoyants, and psychics to look into the future, answer questions, and even find lost objects or people. Nostradamus is perhaps the most famous scryer.

* What are Milagros? Milagros are small amulets or folk charms which are used as votive offerings in Latin America, Spain, and some other parts of Europe. The use of milagros in Spain dates back to at least five centuries before the birth of Christ, and the tradition endures to this day, especially in isolated communities. Many visitors to Spain and Latin America like to pick up milagros as mementos of their trips, and these small amulets are sold by many vendors, classically right outside a church.

* Who is Madame de Mal de Mort ? She is one of the many characters that live inside Moona's head- ooooh , now that is scary!
