Orange Butter Balm
This Orange Butter Balm is another one of Moona's original recipes. It was sampled out last year in mini push up tubes, and requested to be listed :)
This all natural balm comes in a 2.5 ounce push up tube, same tube that is used in the Ultra Whips.
The balm is rich in emollients and, all natural! Safflower petals are infused into the Apricot oil, both are beneficial to your skin. Safflower helps retain moisture; it's high in Vitamin E, A, C and D as well. It is also know as an antioxidant for skin.
Organic apricot kernel oil is rich in gamma linoleic acid, or GLA, which comes from essential fatty acid omega-6. The GLA content in apricot kernel oil helps skin to maintain moisture balance. Additionally, organic apricot kernel oil contains vitamin A and E. The nourishing properties of apricot kernel seed oil may soothe the skin. Consult your doctor about your skin conditions before using apricot kernel oil.
Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
Note: The original recipe called for Vanilla Absolute. To keep the costs down, I have substituted Vanilla Infusion for the Vanilla Absolute. Vanilla crop was terrible last year and as a result the prices of Vanilla Absolute and Bourbon have sky rocketed, right out of the market. Many suppliers are out, and if in stock are about 400.00 an ounce. This is still an all natural product using a Vanilla infusion with Fractionated Coconut.
Preparation of Fractionated Coconut Oil
For this, hydrolysis of coconut oil is first carried out. Then, the product is passed through steam distillation to obtain the fractionated coconut oil. The result is a thin oil full of medium-chain triglycerides. Result is a long shelf life, stability, and rancidity-resistant properties.
